We value our children! They are not only important to God, they are important to us. The Children's Ministry team knows how challenging it is for families today because we have families too! The Spiritual growth and development of our children is as important as their emotional, mental and physical development. Here at Ithaca United Methodist Church we take seriously our role in helping families address the spiritual needs of children by having meaningful classes and activities for our children from birth through 5th grade.
The Children's Ministry Team has designed an exciting hands-on program for our children. Pre-kindergarten through fifth grade will experience age-appropriate Sunday School in bibical theme classrooms. Kids will learn God's word through: use of the Bible but also through art, music, drama, games, storytelling, cooking, and movies. We love doing God's work with His kids!
Beginning this year, our Sunday school program will run the same time as our worship service (10:30 a.m.). Pre K (4 years old by September 1) through 5th Grade will gather in the education wing and go to their classrooms: Pre K- 1st grades, 2 & 3 grades and 4 & 5 grades. We are using a new curriculum, 252 Basics, this curriculum uses Bibles stories to teach core values. 252 Basics is simple. A strategy that combines the critical influences of the church and home to incite wonder, provoke discovery and fuel passion in the hearts of the next generation.
There are also a variety of activities throughout the year for our children: bell choir, children's choir, Christmas drama, dance team, Fortress 56 to name a few. Come join us!
